Minnesota bands elevate the art of street marching
Minnesota's summer parade season has more than 20 competitive events culminating with the Vikingland Band Festival parade marching championship. This video from 2006 features
Park Center High School's Cirque du Soleil show, which earned awards for first place, best color guard and best winds in the large school class, and was just 3-tenths from the
overall Grand Champion award. The 2017 event takes place in Alexandria, Minnesota, on Sunday, June 25. This year's parade features 22 units including special guests Minnesota Brass and
River City Rhythm Drum & Bugle Corps.
Getting a vision of "WGI Winds" WGI is adding a new competitive division in 2015 called WGI Winds. During the 2014 Percussion World Championships, Aimachi (Nagoya, Japan)

Changing the face of college halftime The Ohio State University Marching Band is on a roll this fall, delivering wildly entertaining halftime shows that mean spectators are waiting until after the band's
performances to head to the concession stands. The October 19 show featured an incredible moonwalking Michael Jackson, and the October 26 performance in this video featured animated segments
from Hollywood blockbusters.
Europe's biggest floral parade The Zundert Flower Parade (Bloemencorso Zundert) is a moving art gallery,
with giant sculptures colored by Dahlia blooms bringing creative concepts to life. Marching showbands from several countries provide a musical backdrop as they
contend for the coveted People's Choice award. Marching.com is a big fan of the parade and has covered it since 2006. The 2013 parade takes place Sunday, September 1. This clip by ROStvZundert shows the 2012 parade in its entirety.

College marching bands wow football crowds Hot dog vendors aren't as busy at halftime anymore because crowds don't want to miss the awesome marching band shows! National media including
CNN have shown videos that went viral, such as the University of Hawaii's football kicker and Ohio State's video game tribute.

DCI corps take center stage in Live for Music video International singer-songwriter Shaun Canon has given the marching activity a boost by including several top drum and bugle corps prominently in his latest music video. Canon was a member of his

BOA Honor Band forming for 2013 Rose Parade Tournament of Roses Parade officials attended this year's Bands of America
Grand National Championships to officially invite the BOA Honor Band to march in the 2013 Rose Parade. The band will comprise 300 members representing all 50 U.S. states.
High school students interested to perform with the band can download the BOA Honor Band application. The deadline to apply is February 10, 2012.
