That's great news for marching fans, since it's now easier than ever to view clips of bands, guards, drumlines and events. USC Band featured in Hawaii Five-0 music video
The iconic University of Southern California Trojan Marching Band is featured in the promotional campaign for CBS's revival of the television series Hawaii Five-0. The music video features the band playing the show's theme song and interacting with stars Grace Park and Daniel Dae Kim. Some scenes were shot in Los Angeles while others were shot on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu ... when the band was in Hawaii for USC's football game against the University of Hawaii Warriors.
The voices of BOA Grand National Championships
Approximately 90 bands from across the U.S. will gather at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis November 10-13 for the 2010 Bands of America Grand National Championships. The event showcases the state-of-the-art among high school marching bands. This video from 2008 gives a behind-the-scenes look at the announcer's booth with Chuck Henson and Dan Potter.
European flower parade season reaches peak
Communities throughout The Netherlands and Belgium hold fantastic flower parades to celebrate the region's role as a flower producer. At least 10 parades featuring marching bands and floral floats take place from late August to mid-September. This video clip is a television commercial for the prominent "Bloemencorso Zundert" on September 5. See 2009 Corso Zundert photos.
Marching band plays live for must-see music video
Numerous music videos have incorporated marching bands, but "This Too Shall Pass" by rock band OK Go is perhaps the most creative to date. The video stars the Notre Dame Marching Band and features a new musical track that was recorded live during the filming.
Troopers documentary available May 15
Hell Bent For Victory, the new documentary about the inspiring 2009 season of the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps, is set for release on Saturday, May 15. View the YouTube trailer and read the review on Marching.com.
2010 WGI Color Guard Highlights
Nearly 300 units performed at the WGI Color Guard World Championships held April 8-10 in Dayton, Ohio. Organizers produced an incredibly smooth event and performers delivered their best shows of the season. This YouTube montage features images of 60 guards.
