With corps trading victories in recent weeks and earning scores separated by mere fractions of a point, the competitive 2015 DCI season kept fans on the edge of their seats. The close competition carried through to the World Championships Prelims, where Carolina Crown earned a solid first place while a warmup zone penalty knocked Blue Devils from second to fourth. The Cadets and Bluecoats were second and third, but separated by just 0.05 points. The hard-to-predict outcome wasn't just for the medalist positions, but also for the prestigious 12th place and 25th place, where multiple corps were in contention for each cutoff spot.
