MENC announces all-star instructional staff
RESTON, VA (April 11, 2011) MENC: The National Association for Music Education announced the 2012 U.S. Army All-American Marching Band
instructional staff and reminds high school juniors that the deadline to apply for this all-expense paid performance opportunity is May 1, 2011.
The U.S. Army All-American Marching Band recognizes 125 top high school senior marching musicians and color guard performers from across the country and showcases their
talents during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Students who are selected for the band receive a
paid trip to San Antonio to perform.
2012 Applications Due May 1
Applications to perform with the 2012 U.S. Army All-American Marching Band are due by May 1, 2011. Nomination by a band director is not a prerequisite.
All high school juniors (class of 2012) who are members of their high school marching band can apply. More details and
2012 application materials are available on the MENC website.
The fifth annual U.S. Army All-American Marching Band will perform in the halftime show at the U.S.
Army All-American Bowl on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The game is televised on NBC.
Many members of the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band have participated in all-state bands and marched with top DCI and WGI ensembles.
2012 Staff Announced
MENC member T. André Feagin will lead the 2012 U.S. Army All-American Marching Band after serving on the staff the past three years. Feagin is associate
director of bands at University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and former brass caption head for the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum & Bugle Corps. Feagin
received a master's degree in instrumental wind conducting from the University of Memphis and is a doctoral of musical arts candidate in
conducting from the University of North Texas, where he studies under North Texas Wind Symphony conductor Eugene Migliaro Corporon.
The 2012 instructional staff hails from all over the country and represents the best marching music programs and drum corps in the nation:

The U.S. Army All-American Marching Band is an all-expenses paid opportunity for high school marchers. Current juniors can apply until May 1, 2011. Selection will be announced in late July. For more information, visit
