There is only one place in the world where a parade processes down an oceanfront boardwalk and features 52 Miss America contestants, 52 pairs
of creative themed shoes, 5,000 parade participants, and tens of thousands of spectators yelling "SHOW US YOUR SHOES!" This unique parade opportunity for marching bands
is the Miss America Organization's "Show Us Your Shoes Parade" set for Saturday, September 9, 2017.
The parade is a beloved Atlantic City tradition which provides a moment where contestants relax, in a non-competitive atmosphere, and celebrate the
spirit of their home states through costumes and one-of-a-kind wearable art footwear. Spectators are amazed by the contestants' hand-made shoe creations,
which have ranged from Swarovski crystal-covered pumps to diving flippers, and military boots to enhanced bedtime slippers. Contestants find creative motivation
for their theme from notable elements in their state, such as historic events, favorite sports teams, and their state bird, tree, flower or motto.

The spectacle of the contestants and shoes, marching bands, floats, baton twirlers, police officers, military personnel,
cheerleaders, dancers, cultural groups, and other performers brings this beloved tradition to great life. The parade started decades ago as a
simple procession of contestants on the boardwalk, and has grown to become a deeply rooted family-friendly multi-generational parade.
The reigning Miss America leads this extraordinary event, which takes place just one day prior to the crowing of the new Miss America.
The two-mile parade route travels down the Atlantic City boardwalk, kicking off at New Jersey Avenue and marching toward Boardwalk Hall and continuing to Albany Avenue.
The parade takes place rain or shine and features 120 elements with more than 5,000 participants.
The 2017 parade is produced and designed by West Chester, Pennsylvania-based Under The Sun Productions Inc. with Producer Todd Marcocci, Assistant Producer Amy Walp and
Associate Producer Jeremy Williams. Their team of professionals has produced more than 130 parades in America over their 24-year history.
